Education & previous employment: I earned my doctorate in computer science from Concordia University, Montreal in 2009, working on indexing techniques for biological sequence data. In the following four years, my research focused on comparative bacterial genomics (Prof. Mark Pallen’s group, University of Birmingham) addressing various questions based on WGS data, ranging from what a bacterial species is to elucidating transmission chains in a hospital outbreak.
Project Focus/ Scientific interests: Development of a pipeline for processing WES data and identifying genes associated with/causing primordial dwarfism; large-scale data analysis; collaborative projects
